How to register
Registering with the Great Britain Baseball Scorers Association (GBBSA) is free and simple. Just send an email to the address shown at the right of the menu bar above, stating your name, your level of scoring, and your club if you already score or your region if you do not. After registering you will receive email updates with scoring news, as well as gaining access to the GBBSA forum. You will also be able to learn about training offered by the Northern Scorers Commissioner (Clive Maude) and the Southern Scorers Commissioner (Joe Gray).
GBBSA forum
The GBBSA forum, which can be accessed through the link on the menu bar above, is available to registered scorers. On the forum you can post questions and discuss scoring topics. For details of how to get access, send an email to the address shown at the right of the menu bar above.
GBBSA blog
The GBBSA blog, which can be accessed through the link on the menu bar above, is hosted as a category on BaseballGB. The blog contains, among other things, reviews of scoring books, posts on scoring incidents in the Major Leagues, articles on domestic stats, and a set of scoring posers titled "You Are the Scorer" (click on the image below to see all of the questions). In addition, there was a series of features dedicated to scoring published in early 2009 (click on the image below to see all of the posts).
What they do
As part of the drive for the improved recording and reporting of statistics, the GBBSA is always looking for individuals who wish to serve as League Statisticians for one or more divisions in the British baseball league. The role of a League Statistician includes some or all of the following:
⇒ Encouraging teams to provide stats
⇒ Working to ensure that the stats are of a high quality
⇒ Writing articles on league leaders
⇒ Assigning end-of-season awards
To register your interest in becoming a League Statistician, send an email to the address shown at the right of the menu bar above. Please indicate the division or divisions you would like to be assigned to, as well as your experience of collating statistics (experience is helpful but by no means essential).
Who they are
Below are the names of statisticians in the British baseball league.

IBAF scoring manual
It is ultimately up to each individual scorer to choose which scoring method he or she will use, but the GBBSA strongly recommends the system described in the International Baseball Federation Scoring Manual, which can be downloaded as a five-chapter manual below (last revised in 2008).
IBAF scoring modules
To complement the full International Baseball Federation Scoring Manual (see above), the GBBSA has designed a series of modules to help anyone who is interested in learning to score using the International Baseball Federation method.
To run the modules properly you will need
either PowerPoint 2007 or PowerPoint Viewer.
The latter application is free to download
from the Microsoft website.

A3 scoresheet
The 9-inning A3 scoresheet is a slightly modified version of the standard Confederation of European Baseball scoresheet and it is designed for use with the scoring system detailed in the International Baseball Federation Scoring Manual (see above).
Download the A3 scoresheet as an Excel file through the link below.
A4 scoresheet
The A4 scoresheet was specially designed for the GBBSA and it is suitable for 7-inning games, which are a feature of the National Baseball League. It is intended for use with the International Baseball Federation system (see above) and also includes a set of boxes at the bottom of the column for each inning to record pitch counts, as well as spaces to keep track of balls and strikes during each plate appearance. The scoresheet should be used in combination with a game sheet, and a stats sheet has also been designed. To obtain guidance on how to get the most out of the scoresheet, send an email to the address shown at the right of the menu bar above.
Download the A4 scoresheet, game sheet, and stats sheet as PDFs through the links below.
