NATIONAL BASEBALL LEAGUE SOUTH - STATISTICS 2008

Updated 30 June 2008

Download: The latest sortable statistics for the 2008 National Baseball League South season can be downloaded using the link at the bottom of this section. To ensure full functionality, save the spreadsheet and then open it rather than opening it directly.
Sorting and filtering: If you wish to use the sort and filter functions and are running Excel 2007, you will need to enable macros. You should be able to do this through a security warning prompt that appears below the toolbar. In previous versions of Excel, you should be asked about enabling macros on opening the file. If not, you will need to set the security level to medium (through Tools > Macros > Security) and then open the spreadsheet again.
Free Excel Viewer: If you do not have Excel, you can download a free viewer application (see the link at the bottom of this section), although you will not be able to use the sort and filter functions with this.
Mininum standards: For establishing the minimum amount of playing time needed to lead categories based on an average, first the average number of games that each team has played is calculated (not including forfeits). For batting categories, this number is multiplied by two and rounded up to give the minimum number of plate appearances. For pitching categories and fielding statistics, the number is multiplied by 1.5 and rounded up to give the minimum number of innings.
